Even though it is relatively close to Naples and connected to the mainland by two different bridges, the island maintains its remote, isolated feel. The island features a variety of delightful out-door activities. Beach-going opportunities abound and include two public beaches as well as several offshore island beaches. It is the quieter of the two beaches and therefore is perfect for families who want to relax, go shelling, or watch dolphins playing in the sea. The beach has few amenities, including parking for a fee as well as restrooms and a paved walkway to the beach. Several businesses offer tours and adventure experiences on the beach or nearby, such as Off the Hook Adventures Sailing-Shelling-Sightseeing and Florida Adventures and Rentals.

It is in Santa Fe and it is expensive but it doesn’t live up to the price tag. The main advantage is the park is close to Santa Fe. There is also the Rail Runner train station nearby. It is an inexpensive and convenient method of transportation to downtown. The entrance leading into the park is concrete but the interior roads are gravel and dust – you will get dirty! Many fellow rv’ers drove too fast kicking up even more dust.

We spent a night and caught the first shuttle to Bandelier and spent our time there and then shuttled back to our RV for lunch and to rest from our hike. We then unhooked our electric and drove to Los Alamos to go to the Bradbury Center and walk around town. The shuttle to Bandelier runs every 20 minutes and it takes about 25 minutes to ride up the mountain. It was a great day. Dumped our tanks and refilled with water and spent a second night.

Save Lawyers, expert witnesses and evidence boxes filled a Santa Fe courtroom Tuesday as a jury trial got underway in a medical malpractice case brought by the mother of a boy who was injured when an older boy pushed him off a slide during a city of Santa Fe summer program. Vincent Regional Medical Center, distracted by reports of the fall in , failed to diagnose and treat in time. Since then, all but four of the defendants have been dismissed as parties to the lawsuit.
The mayor and other municipal defendants were dismissed based on a claim of governmental immunity in Still on the hook are Christus St. Vincent and three doctors who attended to the child over the course of the approximately three days he was seen at the Santa Fe hospital, before he was airlifted to University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, where holes were drilled in his skull to relieve pressure caused by fluid that had accumulated around his brain.
But, Curtis said, the doctors failed to note vital clues that indicated the child was suffering from something more serious than a bump on the head and twice sent the child home with his mother and instructions to give him ibuprofen. The boy also lost sight in one eye. Timothy Fields, the attorney representing Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, told state District Judge Francis Mathew that he wanted to delay presenting his opening argument to the jury until the plaintiff had concluded her case.
And she told jurors they should pay close attention to the credentials of expert witnesses, not all of whom, she said, are created equal. The first witness Curtis put on the stand was Dr. The trial is scheduled to resume Wednesday morning and continue through Dec. Contact Phaedra Haywood at or phaywood sfnewmexican.

The view inspires romance — and the double-sized lounge chairs encourage it — but note if you go with a group: Open Mon-Thurs, and Sun 3pm The staff is well-educated on the beer selection and can capably guide you. Don’t bother asking for a Bud Light, but do try some of the popular local brews. The bourbon selection is also quite good, and the bar staff’s iPods play a killer cool soundtrack.
Given the high-energy atmosphere, cocktails are safely served in plastic cups. Downstairs the music is pumping, lights are flashing and go-go dancers gyrate atop elevated boxes. When you get hot, you can slip upstairs to the breezy roof where there’s a different DJ and a more intimate dancefloor. Inside, there’s a more sophisticated seating area where you can see and be seen. Today, under different owners, Hotel Andaluz, still has the historic murals preserved on the lobby walls — but the rooftop bar would appeal more to Paris Hilton than her great-grandfather.
In the early evening, the atmosphere is serene, but call to find out if there are DJs scheduled for later.

Yes No September 16, Review: Most will walk a good amount and all will walk some. For the strong climber or one who doesn’t mind a little hike-a-bike, it’s well worth it though. Much of the trail is entertaining despite the grade and the scenery is wonderful. And then you get to reap the reward of all that sweat you put into getting up–the downhill is a real hoot!
Go at an off-peak time if you can. You can also hook up with the Dale Ball trails to extend your mileage and turn this into a real epic ride. Santa Fe’s Arroyo Systems Snow and sunrise on the Arroyo en Medio As a kid growing up in Santa Fe during the 80s and early 90s we didn’t have many trails to run or bike on, we had dirt roads and arroyos. Arroyos were not a real draw for biking of course, but for running and hiking and a myriad of childhood adventuring activities they were first rate. I still run and now bike in them on a weekly basis, generally as link-ups within a longer route but sometimes as a long traffic-free out and back.
Only over the last year have I been introduced to the names and some of the history of the arroyos around town. There’s a least a couple dozen of them, many are familiar, some obscure. Some are runnable hikable, explorable , some run through private land, some have had their courses shortened or re-routed by development or roadwork.
